The Absolut Statehood edition was another vision of Michel Roux. He wanted to create an opportunity for lesser known and emerging artist. He began commissioning the nation’s brightest talents to reflect the spirit of the brand. One artist from each state was selected and commissioned to depict their home state in their own distinctive style and incorporating the Absolut Vodka bottle. They were given complete artistic freedom by the advertising firm.
There were 51 Statehood artworks commissioned for each of the 50 states plus Washington D. C. The lithograph collection also includes the rejected Absolut Idaho.
Produced in 1991 and 1992, these prints were generated from high quality photographic reproductions transferred to printing plates and run in editions of 400.
These limited edition, hand signed, lithographs can be purchased individually.
We are also offering the entire collection of 52 lithographs of the same number, in a special cloth covered and gold embossed box, for sale.
